Joseph Milton Bradley (2025)

About Joseph Milton Bradley

Joseph Milton Bradley was an outstanding sprinter at East Canton High School over a three-year period stretching from 1979-1981. In the three years under the guidance of Coach Greg Schadle, he placed in the top three at the state meet 7 times, bringing three first-place, three second-place, and one third-place finishes back to East Canton High School. In his sophomore season, he placed 2nd in the 100 Yard Dash (10.2h) and a 3rd Place finish in the 220 Yard Dash (22.7h) at the Class A State Track & Field Championships. Joe didn’t stop there; he followed up his junior season with an impressive 2nd Place 100 Meter Dash (10.9H) and 2nd Place 200 Meter Dash (21.8h) finish at the Class A State Championship Meet. Then he added an already impressive high school career as a sprinter by completing the “sprint triple” his senior year at the Class A State Track & Field Championships, winning the 100, 20,0, and 400-meter races. In addition to the outstanding and difficult achievement at the 1981 State Championship, he set Class A State Meet records in two of the three races, completing the 200-meter dash in 21.79 and the 400-meter dash in a time of 47.94. Upon graduation from East Canton, Joe attended Malone College and competed during the 1981-82 school year before going to work full-time and getting away from the sport for three years. During the 1985-86 school year, Joe returned to the track at Malone and was able to qualify for the NAIA National Championship Meet in the 200-meter, 4x100 Meter Relay and the 4x400 Meter Relay. Unfortunately, an injury during the 4x100 Meter Relay kept him from competing in the other two events at the National Championship Meet. While at Malone, his top collegiate marks were 10.36 in the 100-meter dash and 21.1 in the 200-meter dash. Joe was a part of the record setting Malone 4x400 Meter Relay that still stands as a school record today. Upon the conclusion of his collegiate career, Joe competed with the “Over The Hill” Track Club led by renowned sprinter Walt Henderson. His best post-collegiate marks were 10.33h in the 100 Meter Dash and 20.9h in the 200 Meter Dash. In 1987, Joe enlisted in the United States Air Force and served for 9 years. Joe still holds the 100, 200, and 400-meter records at East Canton with FAT times from 1981 and hand-timed bests of 10.5, 21.,6, and 48.0. In addition to his sprinting abilities, he competed in the long jump, with limited opportunities due to relay activity, jumping a personal best of 21’ 3.5”. Without a doubt, Joseph Bradley was one of the top sprinters in the State of Ohio, regardless of division, during his time wearing the blue and gold of East Canton High School. In recognition of your outstanding accomplishments, the OATCCC is proud to include you as a 2025 Hall of Fame Inductee. Congratulations Joe!
