About Dale T. Hartney
Dale Hartney has coached for over thirty-four years at Columbus Whetstone, Hastings M.S., and Upper Arlington. Dale has had great success in coaching the 800; three women have run 2:16 or better, while Andy Cooper ran 1:56.8. Accordingly, Dale's girls' 4 x 800 teams have qualified for the state meet almost every year. Dale co-coached the state runner-up girls' track team in 1990. Dale's cross country teams have won invitationals at Lakota, Tiffin, Lancaster, Strongsville, Elder, and Dayton. The boys' teams have won nine league, six district, and five regional chmpionships; the girls have won eleven league, eleven district, five regional, and two state championships (1986 & 1991).
