Dwight L. Kane

Dwight Kane ran track for Lancaster High School. As a junior, he won the 220 yard low hurdles in the State Track Meet of 1924. In 1925 he was recognized as Central Ohio’s Outstanding Athlete. While a student at Ohio Wesleyan, Dwight won conference titles in the hurdles four years. In 1928 Dwight became the NCAA outdoor hurdle champion and competed in the Olympic Trials. Dwight also served his country as a civilian instructor for the U.S. Air Force flight engineering school.

Henry "Hank" Schweiterman

Hank Schweiterman has coached track and cross country at Coldwater High School for twenty-six years. His girls track teams have earned State Meet Titles in 1994, 1995, and 1996. He has also coached individual state meet champions in track and field. Hank has been awarded District Coach of the Year and the Fred Dafler Career Coach of the Year honors. His teams have won four District Meet Championships and three Regional Championships. Having earned various teaching and community awards, Hank is also a distinguished educator and citizen in Coldwater.

Jack Lintz

Jack Lintz coaches both track and cross country at Dayton Northmont High School. His boys cross country teams earned State Championships in 1995 and 1996. His boys cross country teams have also won fourteen District Titles, as well as his girls’ teams winning seven District Titles. In cross country and track, coach Lintz’s boy and girl individual athletes have qon many State Titles. Jack has been a clinic speaker and has participated in the State Coaches Cross Country Poll.

Jud Logan

Jud Logan attended North Canton Hoover High School where his throwing accomplishments were insignificant. While attending Kent State University, Jud continued to hone his throwing skills. Jud won two Mid-American Conference hammer throw titles and one discus event. Jud went on to compete in three Olympic Games, two Pan American Games, and three World Championships. Jud established thirteen National records in throwing events. His best hammer throw was 268’8”. Jud is currently the throws coach at Ashland University and is Nationally known throwing events clinician.

Robert Ware

Robert Ware participated in track and field at Cleveland Glenville High School where he won State Meet Titles in the 100 and 220 yard dashes. His teams also won three championships in the 880 yard relay and three State Meet Titles in the same years of 1966, 1967, and 1968. Robert also participated at Cuyahoga Community College and Western Kentucky University. Robert ran in the 1972 Olympic Trials. He also competed with the Philadelphia Pioneer Track Club when he ran the fastest time in the world in the 400 meter relay in 1972.

Teresa Sherman Reichert

Teresa Sherman participated for South Point High School in track and field where she won three State Meet Titles in the Discus in 1987, 1988, and 1989. She was the first Ohio high school girl to throw over 170 feet. Teresa was a four time Junior National Discus Champion, and won the bronze medal in the Junior Pan Am Games in 1989. She was voted the Tri-State Female Athlete of the 1980’s by the Herald Dispatch in Huntington, West Virginia. Teresa became an NCA All-American in the discus while competing for the University of Kansas.
