Meade Burnett

Ran for Cleveland West High School and Ohio State University. Won two state meets 440's and two Big Ten 440's. Coached track and cross country at Cleveland East High School from 1957 to 1963, at Parma High School from 1963 to 1965, at Ashland College from 1965 to 1971, and at Ohio University from 1971 to 1975. Had 210 wins in dual/tri track meets. Coached two individual state high school track champions. Coached one individual NCAA track champion. Was one of the founders of the Cleveland Striders Track Club. Official.

 

William Clauss

Coached track at Salem Township High School in 1935 and 1936, and Springfield and Springfield South High Schools from 1953 through 1972. His teams won 13 district/regional meets. Won two state meet titles and was runnerup three times. Coached 13 individual state meet winners.

Art Edwards

Coached track at Toledo Scott High School in 1958, 1959, and 1960; at Springfield Township from 1965 through 1968; and at Kent Roosevelt High School from 1969 through 1989. His teams won 14 league and one district/regional meet. Coached two individual state meet winners.

 

William Heideman

Competd for Akron Kenmore High School and the University of Akron. Won one event in the state meet. Won six events in the Ohio School from 1965 to 1974 and track at Akron Buchtel High School from 1980 to the present . His Buchtel teams have won all 11 league championships in track and five district/regional meets. His Firestone cross country teams won seven league meets and one district/regional. His 1965 cross country team was runnerup in the state meet. Coached four state high school individual champions.

 

Harley Howells

Ran for Mentor High School and Ohio State University. Won five events in the state high school meets. Won five Big Ten events in track and set nine Ohio college records. Scored twice in the NCAA outdoor meet and twice in the national AAU championships. Was a member of the 1938 U.S. National team. Coached track for eight years in Ohio and 25 years in Florida.

 

Sylvester Stewart

Ran for Toledo Waite High School and Miami University. Won three events in the state track meet and one in the state cross country meet. Made the "Look" magazine All-America team. At Miami he was runnerup in the NCAA 880 and was very successful in cross country also.
