Class of 1990

Glenn Browning

Coached track at Toledo Libbey and Toledo Rogers for 25 years and 14 years of cross country. Won one state track championship and was runnerup once. Won five Toledo city championships, eight district, and one regional title. Coached eight individual state track meet winners.

 

Paul "Boots" Hawkins

Ran, jumped, and threw for Columbiana High School. Won six field event titles at the state track meet. Set the state record in the pole vault.

Jack Hazen

Coached at Malone College for 22 years in track and 23 years in cross country. Won the NAIA National Cross Country Meet in 1972 and finished second on three other occasions. His cross country teams have won 21 district and 22 conference meets and his track teams have won 19 conference and 17 district titles. He has coached three national champion athletes. Founded and managed the Malone Cross Country Invitational. Coached three years of cross country and two years of track at Mt. Vernon High School.

 

Barron "Barry" Walker

Competed for Lancaster High School from 1980 through 1982. Won two state track meet events. Won two events in national high school meets. Set 11 state records in the throwing events including the state meet record in the shot put and one national high school record.

 

Estelle Baskerville Deihl

Jumped for Columbus East High School and the Ohio Track Club. Competed in the high jump for the U.S. National Team in the 1964 and 1968 Olympic Games and the 1963 Pan American Games. She won two indoor national AAU championships. She set one high school high jump record.

 

Myron Cline

Coached boys and girls track for 24 years and cross country for 22 years at Ada, Beechwood, and Kansas Lakota High Schools. Won one boys state cross country championship. Won one district and conference track meets. His cross country teams won 19 conference and four district/regional meets. Coached one individual state cross country champions. Founded and managed the Ada Track Relays and the Lakota Cross Country Invitational.
