Brenda Morehead

Ran for Toledo Scott High School and Tennessee State University. Competed in the 1976 Olympics by winning the 100 and 200 in the Final Trials. Was on the 1980 Olympic team. Won two national AAU indoor 60's and placed in three others. Won one national AAU outdoor 200 and placed in nine other sprint races. Set American records in the indoor 60 meters and outdoor 100 meters. Won two events in the Junior Nationals. Won four events in the first girls state high school meet leading her team to victory. Set eight Ohio high school state records.

 

Martin McGrady

Ran for Akron Garfield High School and Central State University. Set the world record for the indoor 600 yard event four times and tied the indoor 500 meter world record. Won one NCAA indoor 600 and ran on a second place mile relay team. Won the 600 in the three national AAU indoor meets and many other big meets and is generally considered to be the best indoor 600 runner ever. Set two Ohio college indoor and one Ohio college outdoor record. Was a successful high school runner.

James Demo

Coached track at Cleveland Glenville from 1966 through 1969, at Cincinnati Purcell from 1971 through 1973, at Cincinnati Roger Bacon from 1974 through 1977, and at Medina from 1978 to the present. Coached cross country at Glenville from 1966 through 1968, at Purcell from 1970 through 1972, at Roger Bacon from 1973 1976, and at Medina from 1984 to the present. Won two state track titles at Glenville and two regional track meets while at Glenville. Won one conference track championship. Won one league and one district cross country meet. Coached six individual state track meet winners. Official.

 

Norman Grimes

Coached cross country at Lyndhurst Brush from 1959 through 1963. Coached cross country at Tiffin Columbian from 1964 through 1986. Coached track at Columbian from 1968 through 1987. His cross country teams were state high school meet runnersup twice, once at each school. Won three cross country districts at Brush and four cross country districts at Columbian. Won six cross country and four track conference meets at Columbian. Won 147 dual/tri cross country meets and 118 dual/tri track meets.

 

Jim Wright

Coached track at Reading High School from 1962 through 1982. Coached cross country at Reading from 1966 through 1976. Coached girls track from 1978 through 1982. Won eight conference track meets and five conference cross country meets. Coached four individual state high school track meet champions. Foundeded and managed the Reading Invitational. OATC president and secretary. Ohio coach for Midwest Meet of Champions in 1975 and 1976. Ed Barker Award. Has coached track at Wilmington College in 1986 and 1987. Official. Coaching track at Cincinnati Country Day from 1988 to present.

 

Emmitt Taylor

Ran for Akron East High School and Ohio University. Won two NCAA outdoor championships. Anchored two 4x400 relay teams that scored in the NCAA outdoor meet. Won five Mid American Conference events, including four relays. Was second in the 1968 semi trials 400. Was a very successful high school runner. Set six Ohio college outdoor records.

 

Barry King

Ran for Cleveland East Tech High School and Ashland College. Won five NCAA gold medals, including four straight 880/800 events. Ran on a third place 2 mile relay team in the indoor NCAA, regardless of division, that set and still holds the Ohio college record.

 

Aubrey Stosnider

Coached track at Dayton Chaminade and Hamilton Badin. Coached track at Cleveland Cathedral Latin from 1930 through 1948 and 1953 through 1957, at Cleveland Benedictine from 1949 through 1953, and at Cleveland St. Ignatius from 1958 through 1964. Coached cross country. Coached four individual state high school track meet champions and one Olympian. Won 203 dual/tri track meets

 

James Zickes

Coached track at Cleveland Rhodes High School from 1962 through 1984. Coached cross country at Rhodes from 1969 through 1981. Coached girls cross country in 1979, 1980, and 1981. Won three conference cross country meets. Won one conference indoor and one conference outdoor track meet. Coached two individual state high school meet winners and one individual state high school track meet winner. Won 208 dual track meets and 77 dual.tri cross country meets.
