Vivian Brown Reed

Ran for Cleveland East Tech High School, Tennessee State University, and the Cleveland Track Club. Won two gold medals in the 1963 Pan American Games. Won two national AAU indoor events and two national AAU outdoor events. Competed on the 1961 and 1962 U.S. national teams. Was on a world record relay team and set the American record for the indoor and outdoor 220 and another relay.

Frank Nixon

Coached track at Piketon in 1959 and at Lakewood from 1969 through 1971. Coached cross country at Lakewood from 1968 through 1981. Won nine conference and one district cross country meet. Coached two individual state high school cross country champions. Had 117 dual/tri cross county wins. Was a successful runner at Lakewood and Ohio University. Founded the Cleveland Striders Track Club and promoted road racing in the Cleveland area.

Forrest Pruner

Coached track at Union High School from 1958 through 1964 and has been the track coach at Ashland Crestview since 1965 to the present. Coached cross country at Crestview from 1963 through 1986. Won five district and three conference track championships. In cross country his teams have won three district and six conference meets. Coached six individual state high school track meet winners. Coached girls track at Crestview from 1985 through1987, and girls cross country from 1981 through 1986. Won one regional track meet and coached three girls to win in the state high school track meet. Won 200 dual/tri cross country meets.

Craig Wallace

Sprinted and jumped for Dayton Dunbar High School, and Kentucky State University. Won four gold medals in the state high school track meet, including three as a senior to win the team state championship. Tied the world record for the indoor 60 and 70 yard dashes while at Kentucky State.Tied the state high school record in the 220. Scored in the indoor NCAA 60. Coached track at Dayton Roth in 1972, at Dayton Strivers in the 1973 and 1974, and at Dayton Patterson Coop from 1975 to the present. Coached boys cross country at Patterson from 1974 to the present and girls cross country from 1978 to the present. Has won one state high school track championship. Won six conference and three district/regional track meets. Won six boys conference cross country meets and one girl cross country district. OAT&CCC Ohio coach for Midwest Meet of Champions.

Robert "Bear" Whitaker

Coached track at Sandusky High School from 1930 through 1940 and Bowling Green State University from 1941 through 1952. His Sandusky teams won one state high school track championship, seven districts, and all seven league meets competed in. Coached 12 individuals who won in the state high school track meet, and one winner in the Chicago National High School Meet. Had much dual/tri meet success at Bowling Green. Won one All-Ohio track meet and coached one Olympian. Bowling Green's track is named after him.
