Edward Cook

Ran, jumped and vaulted for Chillicothe High School and Cornell University. Tied for first in the 1908 Olympic pole vault. Set two national high school long jump records, and tied the the 100 yard dash national record four times. Finished 4th in the 1908 Olympic long jump. Won two IC4A and two national AAU outdoor pole vault titles. He graduated from high school before the first state high school track meet was held. Coached track at Oakwood High School from 1926 through 1942. Won three state high school track meets and five district track meets. Coached eight individual state track meet winners. Set 18 state high school records. Official.

Robert King

High jumped for Lima high school and Stanford University. Won the high jump in the 1928 Olympic Games. Won two national AAU high jump titles. Won one NCAA and two IC4A high jump titles. Won in high jump in the state high school track meet.

Harold Wright

Ran for Germantown High School. Won seven gold medals in the state high school track meet, including four straight in the 100 and three in the 220. Broke one state meet record and tied another.
Carl Clement Cooke

Carl Clement Cooke

Ran, jumped and shot putted for Columbus North High School and Ohio State University. Won four events in the state high school track meet. Led his team to victory in the first state high school track meet in 1908. Participated in the 200 and 400 relay in the 1912 Olympic Games. Scored twice in the national AAU outdoor 220. Won four Ohio Athletic Conference titles. Set one state high school shot put record. Official.

Herbert Moxley

Ran for Columbus Central High School. Tied the national high school 440 record or 48.2 in the 1928 state high school track meet. Also won another state meet 440 and scored in other events. Ran on a mile relay team that set a national record and won the Chicago National High School Meet.

John "Junior" Saunders

Sprinted, hurdled, and jumped for Glendale High School and Miami University. Won nine gold medals in the state high school track meet, including four high hurdles in succession. Set eight state meet records with the long jump record lasting 36 years. Won four events in his senior year in the state meet. Set two Ohio high school outdoor records. Very successful at Miami University, finishing second and third in NCAA hurdle races.

Lowell "Rib" Allen

Pole Vaulted at Salem High School and Mt. Union College. Won two national high school pole vault titles and set a national high school record in the process. Broke the national high school pole vault record earlier also. Won two state high school meet pole vaults. Won two Ohio Athletic Conference pole vaults. Coached track for ten years at Boardman High School. Set four Ohio high school outdoor pole vault records.

Amsden Oliver

Hurdles for Dayton Roosevelt High School and Miami University. Set three national high school records in the 220 low hurdles, the third came in winning the Chicago National High School Meet where he won the high hurdles. Won four state high school track meet hurdle events. At Miami he won one Buckeye Conference title and finished in both hurdles in the NCAA outdoor meet.

Mike Kleinhans

Mike hurdled and vaulted for Solon High School and Michigan State University. Won seven gold medals in the state high school track meet, including three pole vaults and four hurdle events. Won one Big Ten vault.

Howard Carr

Coached track at Oakwood High School from 1959 through 1979. Coached cross country at Oakwood from 1960 through 1973. Won eight conference track and four conference cross country meets. Founded and managed the Oakwood Relays. Coached two college All -Americans.
