Herbert "Herb" Bee

Coached track at Western Reserve College from 1947 through 1962. Coached cross country at Western Reserve from 1958 through 1961. His track teams won three Presidents Athletic Conference championships.

 

Dave Brown

Coached track at Toledo Waite from 1922 through 1924. Coached track at Toledo Scott from 1927 through 1941. Coached cross country at Scott from 1927 through 1940. Won three state high school track meets and three state high school cross country meets. Won 14 league and 11 district track championships. Won 12 league and district cross country meets. Coached 14 individual state track meet winners.

George Corneal

Coached track at Lakewood High School from 1917 through 1944. Coached cross country at Lakewood from 1928 through 1943. His teams won five State Meet track titles and three State Meet cross country titles. Earned seven State track runnerup positions. Won 16 district and 21 league track championships. Won three cross country districts. Coached 51 individual State Track Meet winners and one State Cross Country Meet winner. His athletes set two national relay records.

 

Donald "Red" Emery

Ran for Prospect High School and Miami University. Won three Buckeye Conference track events and one cross country meet. Won two Ohio Athletic Conference cross country championships and one track event. Won one State Meet high school track event. Scored in one NCAA outdoor 2 mile. Coached cross country at Cleveland Lincoln High School from 1930 through 1941 and track from 1931 through 1942. Was runnerup in two State High School cross country meets. Won nine conference and six district cross country meets. Coached three individual state high school track meet winners. Managed the distrsict cross country meet. Official.

 

Ed "Eddie" Finnegan

Coached track at Baldwin Wallace College from 1935 through 1948 and at Western Reserve College from 1951 through 1965. Won five Ohio Athletic Conference meets while at Baldwin Wallace, and three Presidents Athletic conference meets while at Western Reserve. Won four All-Ohio track meets.

 

George Gauthier

Coached at Ohio Wesleyan University from 1921 through 1955. Won two Buckeye Conference and five Ohio Athletic Conference titles. Coached cross country at Wesleyan from 1955 through 1958. Won three Ohio Athletic Conference meets and one All-Ohio cross country championship. Coached one NCAA champion. Founded and managed the highly successful Ohio Wesleyan high school relays. Ivan Greene

Coached track at Cleveland East Tech High School from 1938 through 1960. Won eight State High school track meets. Won 17 indoor and 19 outdoor conference meets, and 15 district track meets. Was runnerup in the State Track Meet three times. Coaches 46 individual state school track champions.OATC president.

 

Art W. Hendricks

Coached track at Gibsonburg in 1931, 1933, and 1934, at Ada in 1938, and at Clyde from 1939 through 1966. Coached cross country at Clyde from 1958 through1965. Won one State High School track championship and had two runnersup. Won nine district and 13 conference track meets at Clyde. Won one district cross country meet. Coached five individual state high school track meet winners. Ed Barker Award. OATC president, secretary, and Hall of Fame Chairman. Official.

 

Ellsworth Holden

Coached track at Cleveland Rhodes High School from 1935 through 1961. Coached cross country at Rhodes from 1933 through 1961. Was runnerup once in the State High School Cross Country Meet. Won four league and four district Cross Country meets. Won three league and one district track meet. Coached four individual State High School track champions. Won over 100 dual/tri track meets. Was a successful athlete at Cleveland West Commerce High School and Ohio University.

 

Guy Kesler

Coached track at Columbus Central High School from 1925 through 1949 and cross country from 1927 through 1948. Won four State High School Track Meet titles. Was State Track runnerup three times. Was runnerup twice in the State High School Cross Country Meet. Won 18 league and 16 district track championships. Won 11 league and three district cross country meets. Coached 17 individual State High School Track Meet winners. Was a successful pole vaulter at Ohio State, winning one Big Ten Title and set two Ohio college indoor and three Ohio college vault records. Official.

 

Richard Larkin

Coached track at Germantown in 1926 and 1927, at Greenfield McClain in 1928 and 1929, and at Upper Arlington from 1930 through 1967. Coached Cross Country at Upper Arlington from 1950 through 1963. Won two State High School Track Meet Championships, and was runnerup three times. Won 16 track conference and ten track district meets. Coached nine individual State High School track champions. Winner of the Ed Barker Award. OATC treasuer. Meet Manager.

 

Harry Mehock

Coached track at Mansfield Senior High School from 1927 through 1968. Coached Cross Country at Senior from 1929 through 1967. Won one State High School Track Meet title and was runnerup twice. Won 17 district track meets and five district cross country meets. Coaches 14 individual State High School Track Meet champions. Founded and managed the high successful Mansfield Relays Track Meet. Ed Barker Award.

 

Edward "Offie" Offinger

Coached track at East Cleveland Shaw High School from 1906 through 1944 and cross country at Shaw from 1928 through 1943. Won three State High School Track championships. Coached 20 individual State High School Track Meet champions.

 

Art Reisner

Coached track at Cincinati Hartwell, Cincinati Central, and Cincinati Taft from 1923 through1954 and cross country from 1932 through 1953. Won three state high school track championships, one state high school cross country title and one cross country runnerup. Won 12 district and two conference track meets and four district and three conference cross country meets. Coached 13 individual state high school track meet winners.

 

George Rider

Coached track at Miami University from 1925 through 1935 and 1937 through 1961. Coached cross country at Miami University from1924 through 1960. Won ten Mid American Conference track meets. Won six All-Ohio track and four All-Ohio cross country titles. Coached two individuals NCAA outdoor track champions and two Olympians. OATC president. Ed Barker Award. President of NCAA Track Coaches Association in 1952 and 1953; and NCAA Cross Country Coaches in 1944 and 1945. Meet Manager of the Miame Relays. Official.

 

Louis G. Ronemus

Coached track at Oak Grove in 1927, 1928, and 1929; at New Moorefield from 1930 through 1936; and at Springfield from 1938 through 1942 and 1946 through 1952. Coached cross country at Springfield from 1947 through 1951. Had two state high school track meet team runnersup. Won 18 league and 15 district track meets. Won three cross country districts. Coached nine individual state high school track meet winners. OATC president. Meet Manager of the Springfield Relays. Official.

 

Larry Snyder

Coached track at Ohio State (1932-1942, and 1946-1965). US Olympic Track Coach for the 1960 Games and assistant for the 1952 Games. 4 second place finishes in NCAA Outdoor Meet. Won 3 Indoor Big 10 Meets, tied for another; Won 2 Big 10 Outdoor Meets. Outstanding hurdler and long jumper at Canton HS and Ohio State. Set 4 Ohio college outdoor records. OATC president. Member of National Track and Field Hall of Fame. President of NCAA Track Coaches Association, 1940 & 1941. Official.

 

Harry P. Swain

Coached track at Columbus North High School from 1905 through 1918. Won two state high school track meets, including the first one in 1908, and was runnerup four times. Won the conference title all 14 years. Coached 20 individual state high school track meet gold medalists. Coached one Olympian. Official.

 

George Woerlin

Coached track at Xenia OSSO from 1934 through 1941 and 1946. Won two state high school track meets and one runnerup. Won five league and five district meets. Coached nine track individual state high school track champions.
