About Bill Huntington

As a student, Bill Huntington was the 1968 Class A State Cross Country Champion for Grand Valley High School. He was also runner-up in track for the 2 mile run in 1968 & 1969. As a coach, Bill has coached 61 seasons over 31 years at Field High School. He has coached 100 teams of boys’ and girls’ track and cross country where he was the head coach for 91 of those teams. His combined dual /tri meet record stands at 775 – 271 – 2. He has coached teams to a combined 26 league titles, 14 District titles, 8 Regional titles, and 4 State Championships. Bill has had 10 teams that finished 3rd or higher in State Meet competition. He was the first coach to win both Boys and Girls State Cross Country Championships in the same year in Ohio in 1997. Coach Huntington has coached Field athletes to 81 All-State performances including State Champions Emily Mars, Chris Sinick , and Julie Kline. Currently Bill is assistant coach at Malone College where he helped the men’s team win the 2007 NAIA National Championship in cross country.
